oakland public education fund

The Oakland Public Education Fund (the Ed Fund) plays a critical role in directing community investment in Oakland public schools so that all students will learn, grow, and thrive. Since 2003, the Ed Fund has raised more than $50 million from philanthropic and community partners to help kids succeed in school, with a focus on students who are furthest from opportunity. Through close partnership with the Ed Fund team, the Hellman Foundation identifies great projects that accelerate the Oakland Unified School District’s investment in kids, including supporting early reading and math teachers who are crucial to closing the achievement gap for students who are falling behind in school.

The Hellman Foundation is proud to partner with the Ed Fund and Oakland Unified School District to advance our common goal of supporting the whole child by promoting high academic achievement and eliminating inequity.
